Gatineau Hills Therapeutic Massage
Massage thérapeutique des collines de la Gatineau
William began his training at Algonquin College with an introduction to Swedish massage in 1999. This is when he first discovered Reiki. After finishing this course, he spent the next year deciding if a career in wellness was right for him. During that year, he completed his first and second level in Reiki while he was researching various massage programs. He chose to become an Orthotherapist because of an instructor he met at the Canadian College of Orthotherapy. It was this instructor’s passion and dedication to teaching that was the deciding factor for him to follow this career path.
Orthotherapy is a natural therapy that combines Massage Therapy and Kinesiotherapy (therapy by movement). It is intended for people who suffer from muscle pain and joint stiffness, which are usually caused by postural imbalance or sudden and repetitive movements.
William has spent the last 17 years learning new skills in order to be able to incorporate them into his treatments. He has studied several styles of hot stone massage which he has combined to create
his own treatment. William has also completed his first level of Shiatsu at the International Academy Health Education. In 2016, he took a nine month sabbatical in which he completed his mastery
training in Reiki, began to study the Alexander technique and Qui Gong, and completed a solo motorcycle trip across North America.
Presently, he lives in the Cascades region of Chelsea, and is currently a member of Mon Reseau Plus as a certified Massage therapist specializing in Kinesitherapy and Orthotherapy.
